SMCI rides AI data-center optimism higher after upbeat Q4, strong Q1 outlook
Super Micro Computer (SMCI) stock jumped in early trading after Q4 EPS of $1.70 on revenue of $11.1B (EPS beat, revenue miss) and a Q1 net-sales guide of $14.5–$15.5B, well above a $11.9B estimate; gross margins rose to 17.6% from 9.6% YoY. CEO Charles Liang touted the Total AI/IT Solutions strategy and a plan to co-build a gigawatt-scale data center for SpaceX and xAI within a year. Despite the optimism, SMCI has lagged AI-infrastructure peers over the past year and is pursuing up to $7B in equity-linked financing amid regulatory scrutiny, including a DOJ-indicted co-founder for export-control violations.
