Mississippi Grand Jury Returns No Indictment in Nolan Wells Case
A Mississippi grand jury declined to indict anyone in the July death of Nolan Wells, saying there’s no credible evidence of criminal conduct or a racially motivated crime. The panel heard 43 witnesses and issued 132 subpoenas, with the official finding that Wells’ death on Horn Island is consistent with drowning, though an independent autopsy deemed the cause undetermined. Family attorney Ben Crump says the investigation isn’t over and continues pressing for answers, while the DA rebutted claims tying the death to race.
