Tesla is facing allegations that it established a secret team, known as the "Diversion Team," to suppress thousands of driving range complaints from customers. The team, based in Las Vegas, was reportedly instructed to cancel as many service appointments related to range issues as possible. Sources claim that Tesla misled owners about the driving range of its electric vehicles (EVs) by inflating range estimates and projections. The alleged practice of optimistic range projections started about ten years ago, and the directive came from CEO Elon Musk. Tesla has not responded to the allegations.
