Arrest Made in Darby Crossing-Guard Assault, Suspect Nabbed in SC
A 29-year-old man, Rashiem Russell, was arrested in Darlington, South Carolina, for the aggravated assault of a school crossing guard outside Walnut Street Elementary in Darby Borough, Delaware County. He’s awaiting extradition to Pennsylvania after being captured by U.S. Marshals and a Carolinas regional task force. The attack occurred during dismissal, leaving the guard unconscious; she is recovering and has resigned. A $5,000 reward had been offered, and authorities credited cooperative police work for the capture.
