Claim Your Share of Google's $23 Million Privacy Settlement

Google has agreed to pay $23m to settle a lawsuit that accused the company of violating its privacy commitments by revealing searchers' personal information to third parties between 2006 and 2013. The settlement, which does not require Google to admit wrongdoing, will allow those who used Google Search during that period to claim a small portion of the cash collected by the search giant. Claimants have until 31 July 2023 to register and file a claim, with an estimated payout of $7.70 per person. Google allegedly appended search terms to the HTTP Referer header, which could have included the search query that created the Google search results list page.
