Grand Theft Auto VI’s November launch is reshaping the fall release calendar as major publishers shift or delay high-profile games into September and even 2027 to avoid GTA VI, leaving November unusually crowded with anticipation and creating a logjam in the surrounding months.
MGM has pushed the release of Luca Guadagnino's R-rated tennis drama "Challengers," starring Zendaya, from September 2023 to April 2024. The film was set to premiere at the Venice Film Festival but will now open as the festival's opening night feature. The move comes amid uncertainty for fall festivals due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike, which prevents actors from participating in promotional work. "Challengers" follows former tennis prodigy Tashi Duncan (Zendaya) as she coaches her husband (Mike Faist) in a match against her ex-best friend (Josh O'Connor). The film is produced by Amy Pascal and Guadagnino and is based on a script that made the 2021 Black List.
