New York Budget Allocates $1B for Utility Bill Relief
New York's state budget dedicates $1 billion to offset rising utility rates. Once Gov. Hochul signs the budget, eligible residents will receive relief checks this fall: joint filers under $150,000 get $200; joint filers $150,000–$300,000 get $150; and single filers under $150,000 get $100. Checks will be issued between September and December and are based on 2024 tax returns.
