Challenges Mount for Putin's Control over Ukraine Territory
Russian President Vladimir Putin's newly created holiday, "Reunification Day," celebrating the annexation of four Ukrainian territories, faced setbacks as his grip on the regions becomes more tenuous. Ukrainian forces have been retaking parts of the occupied territories, including recent gains in Zaporizhzhia. Confusion among Russian officials about the annexed territories has been observed, with differing maps and statements indicating a lack of clarity. The first Reunification Day event in the Luhansk oblast appeared to have minimal participation, with only 11 cars taking part in a car rally.
