Mystery surrounds green color of Venice canal water.
Italian authorities are investigating the cause of the fluorescent green pigmentation in the waters around Venice's Rialto Bridge. Samples have been taken by Veneto's regional environmental protection agency to identify the substance responsible. Unlike previous cases of environmental activism, no group has claimed responsibility for the incident. The Venice prefect has called an emergency meeting of police forces to understand what happened and study possible countermeasures.
