Buffett Estate Fight Escalates as Children Questioned on Mother's Drug Use
The legal battle over the late Jimmy Buffett's $275 million estate has intensified, with his children now being questioned about their mother Jane Buffett's alleged use of ketamine and marijuana. This development stems from a dispute between Jane Buffett and her late husband's former financial advisor, Richard Mozenter, who are fighting over control of the marital trust. While Jane Buffett claims Mozenter has been hostile and failed to provide adequate financial transparency, Mozenter argues she is mismanaging the estate and damaging its value. The conflict has spilled into probate court in Palm Beach County, with both sides seeking to remove the other as trustee. The case highlights the complexities of co-trustee arrangements and the potential for personal disputes to derail estate plans, even among high-net-worth individuals.
