
Charlotte doctor charged after interstate road-rage shooting injures two sisters
A Charlotte emergency medicine physician, Dr. Richard Thomas Arriviello, 61, is jailed without bond on multiple felony charges after allegedly firing into a moving Jeep during an interstate road-rage incident on I-77 near the North Carolina–Virginia line, injuring two sisters ages 12 and 20. The victims were airlifted with non-life-threatening injuries; Arriviello fled in his Mercedes-Benz and was arrested about 15 miles away. Authorities have not disclosed a motive or whether the firearm was recovered; he is scheduled to appear in court Sept. 29.
