Marquez calls MotoGP sprint podium 'inhumane' amid rising rider pushback
Marc Marquez criticized the physical demands of MotoGP's promotional schedule at the Indonesian Grand Prix, calling the post-sprint podium 'inhumane' due to extreme heat. He skipped the traditional golf cart ride to cool down, prioritizing his performance for the main race. This marks the latest in a series of pushbacks against organizers, including sending a stunt double to a kart race in Japan and missing a British GP event. While Marquez acknowledged mandatory 'hero walk' obligations, he emphasized the need for elite athletes to protect their physical condition. The controversy highlights growing tension between riders and race organizers over peripheral commitments, particularly at high-profile events like Mandalika.
