Three-Day Muskegon River Rescue: Tubing Group Survives on Bark and Flowers

A Muskegon River tubing trip near Twin Lake left three people missing for three days. Video released by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources shows conservation officers locating two women and a 9-year-old boy who survived by eating bark and flowers and drinking river water, were rescued and treated for infections and dehydration, and have since returned home.

A man was reported missing after being seen face-down in the Okanogan River south of Oroville. Authorities conducted a multi-agency search with boats, personal watercraft, divers, a drone and an aerial unit; a firearm was recovered near the last known location. Search efforts continued until evening and resumed the next morning but were suspended due to severe weather and hazardous runoff conditions; the man's identity has not been released.
