Downey man arrested at Trump golf course with illegal weapons ahead of LA visit
A 38-year-old Downey man, Jeanine John Taele, was arrested at the Trump National Golf Course in Rancho Palos Verdes after plainclothes federal agents flagged him for suspicious activity; deputies found a loaded pistol in his car and a loaded hollow-point magazine on his person, and a home search later uncovered an illegally modified AR-style rifle, a .45 pistol, body armor, high-capacity magazines, ammo, notebooks with concerning statements, and two radio signal devices. Taele is charged with multiple weapon offenses and is under investigation for robbery; authorities did not report a direct threat to the president, and the arrest occurred days before Trump’s Los Angeles visit.
