FBI Charges Oklahoma Man with 700-Envelope Hoax Campaign Targeting Election Officials
Robin Patrick Martin, an Oklahoma resident, was arrested and charged with two federal counts for allegedly mailing over 700 envelopes containing nonhazardous white powder to public officials. The campaign, which spanned the 2024 and 2026 election cycles, targeted election offices, members of Congress, and media outlets. While the substances tested as yeast or flour, the letters contained threatening messages and UV-reactive ink, prompting evacuations in multiple states. Investigators linked Martin to the mailings through surveillance footage, fingerprint matches, and handwriting analysis.
