Henderson Returns to Tennessee, Reverses Transfer Plan
Tennessee guard Troy Henderson announced on Instagram that he will return to Tennessee rather than transfer, reversing an earlier plan after conversations with his family and coach Rick Barnes. The freshman appeared in 28 games in a reserve role this season, averaging 1.8 points in 6.9 minutes and shooting 33.3% from three, with a career-high 9 points against Gardner–Webb, and has been dealing with a shoulder injury that could require surgery. Henderson now joins Dewayne Brown as players choosing to stay with the Volunteers, while Nate Ament and Ethan Burg have yet to announce their plans for next season.
