Bruce Springsteen headlined the “Music America: The Songs That Shaped Us” concert in New Jersey, performing Woody Guthrie–tied material with Rosanne Cash on Deportee, bringing out Kenny Chesney for This Land Is Your Land, and teaming with the Dropkick Murphys on I’m Shipping Up to Boston before closing with American Land and When the Saints Go Marching In; the night, backed by Little Steven’s Disciples of Soul, celebrated 250 years of American music and honored Guthrie and Pete Seeger in the run-up to the Bruce Springsteen Center for American Music.
