Russian Defense Minister Reveals Wagner Group Rebellion Foiled by Loyal Troops
Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu has publicly acknowledged the failed rebellion attempt by the Wagner Group, attributing its failure to the loyalty of Russian troops who remained committed to their oath and military duty. Shoigu also thanked the personnel for their service and mentioned that the rebellion did not impact the actions of Russian troops. The rebellion, led by Wagner Group leader Yevgeny Prigozhin, aimed to capture Russia's military leadership but was abandoned after reaching the outskirts of Moscow. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy suggested that Russian President Vladimir Putin's power is weakening in response to the Kremlin's handling of the rebellion.
