Ryo Nagamatsu, a long-time composer at Nintendo known for his work on games such as Splatoon 2 and the Link's Awakening remake, has left the company after 17 years to "work a little wider" and help those in need in the industry. Nagamatsu joined Nintendo in 2006 and has left on good terms. His credits include various compositions in Splatoon 3 and the 'Melty Monster Galaxy' theme in Super Mario Galaxy 2.

He also contributed to Splatoon 2 and Splatoon 3, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Mario Kart 8, and more. Nagamatsu indicated on Twitter that it was an amicable split and he plans to work more directly to help those who need his help and to help the industry.
