Ukraine's Army Utilizes Video Game Controllers for Machine Gun Turrets
Ukrainian soldiers have been spotted using a Steam Deck, a handheld video game console, to remotely operate a machine gun turret called the Sabre weapon platform. The US Navy has also used Xbox controllers to operate photonics masts on submarines since 2018, and the US military is investing in weapons systems that utilize Xbox-style controllers. Israel's armed forces have also utilized Xbox controllers in tanks and artificial intelligence trained by the video game "StarCraft II" in its combat vehicles.
