It features a fast mode delivering up to 2.5x faster output, a fallback model for filtered prompts, and mid-conversation tool switching to limit exposed tools. Marketed as closer in power to Claude Fable 5 at half the price, Opus 5 strengthens Anthropic’s stance alongside Google and OpenAI.
