Living the Dream: Sailing the World on a $398,000 Sailboat for $1,900/Month
Brian Trautman, a former software engineer, sold all his possessions in 2008 to embark on a two-year sailing trip around the world. However, he never returned and now lives on a 53-foot sailboat called SV Delos with his wife and daughter. They sustain their lifestyle through their YouTube channel and crowdfunding. While living on a sailboat offers a sense of freedom, it also comes with challenges such as limited access to fresh produce and being at the mercy of the weather. Despite the difficulties, Trautman has visited over 45 countries and plans to stay in French Polynesia for the next year before considering a move back to Sweden.
