Writer Alleges Yellowstone Creator Stole Sovereign Nation Concept
TV writer Lauren J. Salkin sues Taylor Sheridan, Paramount, Elevate Entertainment and NBCUniversal, claiming her long-developed pitch for a show called Sovereign Nation shares major similarities with Yellowstone—including tribal governance, casino-centered power and land disputes—and that Sheridan was initially unavailable for TV projects before Yellowstone's 2018 debut. She seeks damages, profits and an injunction to stop future infringement; reps for the defendants have not commented.
