Sean Michael Lee, a 20-year U.S. Army veteran and paratrooper, died at age 50 from esophageal cancer linked to burn pit exposure in Iraq and Afghanistan. After his military service, Lee became a prominent humanitarian, helping evacuate thousands during the 2021 Afghan withdrawal and rescuing Fox News correspondent Benjamin Hall in Ukraine in 2022.
