Florida files rule to drop four school vaccine mandates despite federal endorsement
Florida’s Department of Health has filed a proposed rule to remove four vaccines from school entry requirements, creating a direct conflict with President Trump’s recent executive order endorsing those same shots. The move, driven by Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo, would make chickenpox, hepatitis B, Hib, and pneumococcal disease optional for students, though other mandates remain in state law.
