Fifth Circuit Panel Urges Judge Ada Brown to Participate in Misconduct Probe After Mass Leak of Sealed Records
A special Fifth Circuit committee ordered Judge Ada Brown to respond by October 27 regarding her refusal to participate in a misconduct investigation, following the discovery that she emailed confidential and sealed court documents to approximately 140 recipients. The panel, which includes Chief Judge Jennifer Walker Elrod, publicly urged Brown to exercise her rights at a scheduled October 30 hearing, warning that her continued refusal may itself constitute further misconduct. Brown, a Trump appointee in the Northern District of Texas, has not responded to recent contact attempts, with messages to her federal email address returning as undeliverable.
