Sean Gunn Cites Physical Toll to Retire from Rocket Raccoon Motion Capture
Sean Gunn has declared himself retired from performing motion capture for Rocket Raccoon in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The actor, who provided the physical reference for the character across three films, cited age-related physical strain on his feet and ankles as the primary reason. While Bradley Cooper voiced the character, Gunn’s on-set performance was essential to the animation. He stated that he is no longer physically capable of executing the required crouching and pivoting movements, effectively closing the door on his return to the role even if Marvel were to revive the character.
