Tesla Model X seatbelt attachments under investigation by NHTSA
The National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is investigating two separate complaints from 2022 and 2023 Model X vehicle owners who had their front seat belts disconnect from an anchor while their vehicles were in motion. NHTSA says up to 50,000 or so Model X vehicles could be affected by the issue, which occurred due to insufficiently connected anchor linkages during assembly. Unlike previous Tesla recalls, seatbelt problems are unlikely to be fixed with an over-the-air software update.
