National Mall Welcomes 110-Foot Ferris Wheel as Great American State Fair Opens
The Great American State Fair opened on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., celebrating America’s 250th birthday with a first-ever Ferris wheel on the mall, state exhibits and security screenings; the event runs daily through July 10 with themed days, road closures, and transit guidance as gates opened around 10 a.m. (with some delays on opening day).
