Burbank arrest in fatal stabbing leaves mother dead, daughter critical
Authorities in Burbank arrested 30-year-old Sergio Fraire on suspicion of murder and attempted murder after a 6 a.m. stabbing on North Brighton Street that killed 59-year-old Arti Varma and left her 25-year-old daughter Meera Varma in critical condition; a SWAT raid on a home on East Palm Avenue led to Fraire's arrest Monday night, and investigators say the relationship between suspect and victims is under review.
