Unapproved settler hike in Sa'ir village ends in fatal shooting and arson
An ultra-Orthodox settler group entered the West Bank village of Sa'ir without military approval, triggering a violent clash that resulted in at least one Palestinian death and a fire. A civilian security coordinator shot at Palestinians after they threw rocks at the settlers, killing an 18-year-old and heavily wounding a 17-year-old, who later died. The IDF confirmed the group lacked authorization and opened an investigation, while Palestinian sources alleged the settlers deliberately started a fire in a home, injuring a 65-year-old resident. This incident follows a surge in settler violence and recent international condemnation of Israeli expansion plans in the region.
