Araki Probes Desire in a Digital-Age Satire
Gregg Araki’s I Want Your Sex uses a flashy, hypersexual LA setting to explore whether real intimacy can survive a world of online temptation, via Erika Tracy’s provocative mentor figure and a disappearance that tests the boundaries of desire. While stylish and playful, the film is arguably lighter and less biting than Araki’s early work, ultimately arguing that the pursuit of genuine connection matters more than the mere act of sex.
