Shepherd Center's Second Building Reaches Milestone
The Shepherd Center in Buckhead, Atlanta, is making progress on its expansion with the construction of two new buildings. The Arthur M. Blank Family Residences tower has recently topped out, while the Marcus Center for Advanced Rehabilitation is well into its vertical ascent. The new rehabilitation center will include a 30,000-square-foot Innovation Institute and a clinical lab for testing new treatment ideas. It is expected to add 48 more beds and allow Shepherd Center to treat hundreds more inpatient people annually. The expansion is funded by an $80 million grant from the Marcus Foundation and is part of a $350 million campaign called "Pursuing Possible." The new buildings are set to open in the latter half of next year.
