Disney+ has confirmed that its high-budget Korean fantasy-romance series, The Remarried Empress, will receive a world premiere at the 31st Busan International Film Festival. Scheduled for October 6-15, the festival will screen three episodes of the 10-part series in its On Screen section. The production, described by Disney as its most expensive Korean drama to date, stars Shin Min-a, Ju Ji-hoon, Lee Jong-suk, and Lee Se-young. Based on a webtoon with nearly 3 billion global views, the series features elaborate palace sets and European filming locations. It joins Netflix titles Dead-End Job and Blue Road in the festival’s showcase for upcoming streaming series.
