Ross Douthat Signs On as 60 Minutes Rebuilds Its Roster
New York Times columnist Ross Douthat will join CBS’s 60 Minutes as a full-time correspondent, part of a five-person intake intended to reboot the aging newsmagazine after a leadership shake-up. Along with Douthat, Norah O’Donnell becomes a full correspondent, and contributors Gianna Toboni, Trevor Phillips and Sebastian Junger also join the team as CBS renovates the program ahead of a fall season return. The moves come amid recent firings and a bid to stabilize 60 Minutes under CBS News’ new direction, with the season set to begin on Sept. 13.
