Japan's Lunar Missions Capture Stunning Images of Earth and Prepare for Moon Landing
Japan's SLIM lunar lander, also known as the "moon sniper," has captured an image of Earth from orbit as a test of its camera system. The photo shows Earth half-shrouded in shadow and was taken around 62,000 miles from the planet. SLIM is now on its way to the moon and will demonstrate its ability to land within 328 feet of its target point, aiming to make more challenging landing areas for planetary exploration more accessible.
