Rash of Smash-and-Grab Burglaries Target Memphis Game Stores
Three separate smash-and-grab incidents occurred in Memphis, Tennessee, early Thursday morning, targeting a GameStop, a Game X-Change, and a Batteries Plus Bulbs store. In one case, a bystander interrupted the thieves, causing them to flee empty-handed. The stolen merchandise was valued at $6,200, and the suspects used a tan SUV and a gray Hyundai Sonata as getaway vehicles. The Memphis Police Department is investigating the incidents and has surveillance footage of the crimes, but no details about the suspects have been released.
