The Pacific Northwest is preparing for a second atmospheric river in less than a week, with heavy rain expected to start on Saturday morning and last through Sunday. Portland could see 1.5" to 2.5" of rain, while the coast may experience up to four inches. The higher snow elevations brought by the atmospheric river will bring rain closer to ski resorts, impacting the first weekend of the season. Unlike the previous atmospheric river, this one is expected to clear the Portland area faster, lasting for two days. It will also help warm temperatures, which will continue into the following week.
