Major cities in the Northeast, including New York City and Philadelphia, have broken records for the lack of snowfall, with nearly 22 months passing since they last saw an inch of snow in a single calendar day. While parts of the region are experiencing significant snowstorms, cities along the Interstate 95 corridor have been spared. There are no significant winter weather events forecasted for these cities in the near future, meaning the snowless streaks will continue. Philadelphia's streak has broken the previous record set in 1973, while New York City's streak has shattered the previous record set in 1998.
