Georgia town tests novel legal strategy against ICE detention plan
Social Circle, a 5,000‑person Georgia town, filed a federal lawsuit opposing ICE's plan to convert a warehouse into a large immigration detention center. Beyond NEPA environmental-review claims, the suit asserts violations of the Administrative Procedures Act and Georgia public nuisance law, arguing the project would threaten health, safety and local services.
