
Dash Crofts, Soft-Rock Icon of Seals & Crofts, Dies at 85
Darrell “Dash” Crofts, half of the soft-rock duo Seals & Crofts, died at 85 from complications after heart surgery. With partner Jim Seals, Crofts helped define 1970s soft rock with hits like Summer Breeze and Diamond Girl, and the duo’s harmonies and Bahá’í faith became hallmarks of their era. Crofts was born in Cisco, Texas in 1940; Seals died in 2022 after a stroke, with Crofts’ death confirmed by producer Louie Shelton.
