Waymo Robotaxi Navigates Denver Farmers Market During Sunday Setup
A driverless Waymo vehicle entered the pedestrian-only area of Denver’s South Pearl Street farmers market during Sunday morning setup, causing alarm among vendors but resulting in no injuries or damage. The car was navigating to a destination on the street when it encountered the market setup, which had not yet fully blocked the route. Organizers followed the vehicle to warn others, as they lacked a method to stop or redirect it. Waymo confirmed the car identified the situation and maneuvered out of the area safely. This incident highlights ongoing challenges as Waymo expands its driverless service in Denver.
