AI Translates Silent Thoughts into Written Text
Researchers at the University of Technology Sydney have developed a portable and non-invasive system that can convert silent thoughts into text using a wearable EEG cap and an AI model called DeWave. This breakthrough technology offers new communication possibilities for individuals with speech impairments and has potential applications in enhancing human-machine interactions. The system has achieved around 40% translation accuracy and aims to reach the performance level of traditional language translation programs. It provides a more adaptable and less invasive alternative to previous methods that required surgery or MRI scanning.
