Kohberger seeks neutral forum in post-conviction bid, targets judge and venue
Bryan Kohberger’s new attorney filed motions to disqualify Fourth Judicial District Judge Steven Hippler and move his post-conviction proceeding out of Ada County to Latah County, arguing that Hippler’s prior remarks about Kohberger and concerns over defense preparation raise impartiality concerns and warrant a neutral forum to challenge his conviction and the effectiveness of his attorneys; the court is also asked to move the proceedings to the county where the crimes originated, with a scheduling hearing set for 2027.
