The prosecution of Steven Sheangshang, who is accused of killing Scott County Sheriff Deputy Caleb Conley, is being taken over by Kentucky's Attorney General office at the request of the chief circuit judge for the district that includes Scott County. Sheangshang has pleaded not guilty to all six charges he faces, including murder and burglary.
Steven Sheangshang, who was recently accused of killing a Kentucky sheriff's deputy, has been charged with stealing a portable generator from a home in Fort Mitchell. Sheangshang was recognized on security video stealing the generator on May 17, and investigators later discovered that he had pawned the stolen item just minutes after the burglary occurred. Sheangshang has a lengthy criminal record and will eventually face charges in Kenton County for the Fort Mitchell burglary.
Steven Sheangshang is facing charges including murder of a police officer, assault, and robbery after allegedly killing Scott County Deputy Caleb Conley during a traffic stop and shooting another person at a bar in Lexington. Sheangshang then stole a car and was found by police an hour later with a gun in a nearby home. He had been named wanted person of the week by Bluegrass Crime Stoppers for burglary charges.
