UAE Spy Sheikh Stakes 49% in Trump Family’s Crypto Bank Venture
The UAE’s national security adviser Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed al Nahyan and co‑investors hold a 49% stake in the Trump family’s World Liberty Financial bankholding entity WLTC Holdings, with Trump affiliates owning about 38%. World Liberty previously invested $500 million in January 2025, directing $263 million to Trump family entities. The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency granted preliminary conditional approval for a federally chartered national bank linked to a USD-denominated stablecoin, but the deal faces scrutiny due to Tahnoon’s status as a foreign official and ongoing U.S.–UAE policy talks on advanced AI chips. The White House has not commented on the arrangement.
