Anduril secures $2.9B Navy contract and $3.7B Maryland shipyard investment
Anduril Industries has won a $2.9 billion contract with the U.S. Navy to manufacture components for Virginia-class submarines. Simultaneously, the company announced a $3.7 billion private investment to build a new shipyard, named Arsenal-2, at Sparrows Point in Maryland. The facility is expected to create 3,100 permanent jobs and support 14,000 total positions by 2030. This announcement follows the appointment of Anduril co-founder Palmer Luckey to the Pentagon’s Project Meridian task force, which is tasked with defining future military capabilities.
