"Nvidia Introduces Project GR00T: AI-Powered Humanoid Robots for Heavy Industries"
Nvidia unveiled a software and hardware platform to build human-like robots powered by a super computer and AI, allowing the robots to learn through generative AI. The platform includes a computer system called "Jetson Thor" and a suite of software called "Isaac" platform, enabling robots to understand instructions through language, video, and demonstrations. Nvidia also announced the release of pre-trained robotics models and additional software to improve camera sensing abilities and robotic arm functions. The company's CEO, Jensen Huang, stated that artificial general intelligence (AGI) could arrive in as little as five years, while a U.S.-funded report warned of the urgent need to act on the potential risks posed by rapidly developing AI capabilities.
