"360M Records Exposed in Major VPN Data Breach"

Over 360 million user data records have been leaked in a breach with the free VPN service SuperVPN. The leaked records contained personal information such as email addresses, original IP addresses, geolocation records, unique user identifiers, references to visited websites and more. Cybersecurity researcher Jeremiah Fowler discovered the breach and found that the SuperVPN app was listed under different developers depending on the App Store it was downloaded from. This is not the first time that the free VPN service has had information leaked, as it happened once in 2016 and again in 2020. It is recommended to use a trusted and reputable VPN service that is paid for, as free VPN services often have low-level encryption, sell user data, have a higher risk of malware, create slower connections, trigger CAPTCHA tests, and have an overflow of ads.
