Apple Watch Saves Swimmer Swept Out to Sea in Australia
An Australian body surfer, Rick Shearman, was rescued after being swept out to sea thanks to his Apple Watch, which he used to call emergency services. Despite being stranded half a mile from shore, Shearman stayed on the line for an hour, helping responders locate him. He was eventually rescued by helicopter, attributing his survival to the life-saving technology of his Apple Watch.
